It’s all about the best of locally sourced beef at the Cornstore Restaurant Group, the first restaurant group in Ireland to launch their own in-house dry aging beef process. This initiative involves an in-house dry ageing unit, the importation of the world’s oldest and purest salt, and passionate chefs to monitor the tenderness.

Imported Himalayan salt is used to absorb humidity in the aging unit over a period of up to 35 days resulting in the most tender, flavoursome beef one is ever likely to taste. Beef lovers can expect to be spoilt for choice with specialised cuts, not readily available including Tomahawk steak, Cote du Boeuf, Chateaubriad (all to share), the Onglet or just that ever popular tender Sirloin steak. All cuts will be served with a selection of sauces, organic leaves from the Cornstore’s own garden located in Limerick and proper chips.

We are thrilled to announce that the Cornstore Restaurant Limerick has been awarded ‘Best Restaurant in Limerick’ for the second year in a row at the Munster regional final of the Restaurant Awards sponsored by Santa Rita and Sunday Independent Life Magazine held in Cork City, on Tuesday April 24th 2013

This award is a testament to the quality, service and standard of excellence we strive to achieve every day. Nominations for the awards were made by the readers of Sunday Independent Life Magazine and members of the Restaurant Association of Ireland.

The Cornstore Restaurant will now go on to compete for the Regional and All Ireland Title which will be announced at the Irish Restaurant Awards in Dublin next month.

We are thrilled to announce that the Cornstore Restaurant Limerick has received a nomination for ‘Best Restaurant’ and ‘Best Customer Service’ in Limerick in this year’s Irish Restaurant Awards. Furthermore our Head Chef Maura Baxter has received a nomination for ‘Best Chef’ in Limerick.

Winners will be annouced at the Munster Regional Awards which will take place later this month on  April 23rd at The Imperial Hotel Cork with all county winners going on to compete for the Regional and All Ireland Title.

In last months Licensing World Bar Awards the Cornstore Restaurant Limerick was one of five finalists in the Best Cocktail Bar category, making it among the top five cocktail destinations in the country! Furthermore, its sister restaurant the Cornstore Cork was also one of the finalists, a true testament to the Cornstore’s dedication to the art of Cocktail making. This prestigious black tie event, took place atDublin’sClydeCourtHotelin front of 300 of the countries licensed trade members.

The Cornstore’s unique cocktail bar provides a casual, warm and lively atmosphere at the heart ofLimerickcity and its recognition at this year’s awards is evidence to its hard working friendly staff and excellent customer service. Just last month, it launched a new ‘Mad Men’ style ‘Cocktail Hour’ for the summer months, taking place every Thursday and Friday between 5-7pm.  This has already proved very popular with the after-work drinks brigade, keeping resident mixiologist Mario Fiscuci busy, as he expertly crafts a range of retro classics, served with a Cornstore twist. Vintage favourites proving popular include the Cosmopolitan, the Sidecar and the Berlin Blonde.

The Licensing World Bar Awards are Ireland’s only award ceremony dedicated to the licensed trade and celebrates excellence in the industry. All finalists were visited by an expert panel of judges and assessed on a range of criteria including welcome, hygiene, product range and training. The Cornstore restaurants are open for lunch and dinner seven days a week and are unique in the industry with dedicated cocktail bars in both locations. As well as cocktails, the Cornstore’s candle lit pewter style bar also houses the ‘Verre De Vin’ wine system which offers over 20 bottles by the glass, delivering on their promise of great steaks, seafood, wine & cocktails.
